The Olympic Torch!

completely ignore what i'm wearing! it was -10 degrees here and we left our house at 8:30 to catch the flame pass thru the town!

but here I am, with Amanda and Ashley, and 6 of the many torch bearers. haha notice how i stole the guys torch! those things were EXTREMELY heavy, i cannot imagine running with LIT ones. 

Orangeville held a huge celebration today, with ski and snowboarding, skating, snowmobiling, dancing, and signing. We really did get into the spirit of the games!

 

What I'm the most excited about is this man - Mike Douglas!! I can't believe he was in my town!! He's responsible for the growth of freestyle skiing in Canada and the world and he's one of my personal heros. Absolutely AMAZING skier!

Orangeville has these tree carvings EVERYWHERE. Someone carved this solely for the olympic torch pass-thru.

Leather Completes Me!

This is pretty much what I wore on Christmas. I honestly didn't want to take the jacket off that day, and have worn it every second possible since! Its so warm too, the perfect jacket for a Mono winter! which means i'll be cozy warm in windsor!!

I didn't really wear anything special underneath.. every year before this I got dressed up for the family dinner, and I was always the only one. This year I went super casual. It's actually the first time I wore jeans to Christmas dinner. 

I did however, get my FAVOURITE necklace fixed this Christmas :) It's similar to the 'Carrie' necklace from Sex and the City, but it's my name in arabic, and its a huge chunk of gold.

Exams = Death of Style

i just got back from an intense study session at caw with m. exams are so exhausting this year, i dont think ive studied so hard in my life!

luckily, i only have two left and im home as of monday night! 

however, because these exams are like CRAZY hard this year, i've been LIVING in the same outfit, with slight variations, for the past two weeks. this includes a mix of m's sweatpants, t-shirts, university sweater, leggings and a MASSIVE scarf. OH and extra warm socks. 

my sense of style has been murdered by third year exams.

today tho, i broke free of the exam curse and actually put on jeans and fur :O

i got this belt in a michigan vintage store, and i was in love with it the moment i saw it! best of all, its strangely comfortable!

Helmut Lang Jacket

I absolutely love this Helmut Lang jacket! I finally checked my email after a month and had a TON of emails from net-a-porter, and they had a whole section dedicated to 'the perfect jacket'. I love the shoulders of this jacket. Perfect for moi.

Sequins Overload

I got a little sequin happy at this small vintage store in Michigan. I feel my Gran would have worn these dresses to fabulous weddings in the '70s. They were incredibly heavy, very dated dresses but I was convinced I could alter one of them some how for New Years Eve 2010. Thankfully, cooler head's prevailed, and I bailed. The shoulder pads were absolutely insane, which I kind of actually adore. 

I'm still on the hunt for the perfect New Years Eve dress!
